A style of dress. The celebration of play. A family business. A father and son. The founders fled the cold winters of Chicago to seek refuge in the endless summers of Hawai’i. The company that he co-founded, Tori Richard, Ltd today is one of the oldest apparel firms in the islands and an extraordinary success story.

From three partners and one sewing machine in a small office at Honolulu Harbor, where high tide dampened the floorboards, the company soared and then nearly destroyed itself, only to be revived by a new generation of leadership. Today, Tori Richard Ltd. is a vertical designer and manufacturer of men’s and women’s better resort wear. As a family-run business for nearly a half-century, Tori Richard is deeply committed to quality, customers, employees and to the community.

Every textile design created is art. Indeed, the highly technical process of textile printing is an art form Tori Richard has learned over many decades. All textile designs are created solely by Tori Richard, Ltd. and are thus exclusive to the company. Combined with some of the exclusive fabric weaves and finishes developed over the last half century, each textile design is totally unique and not available anywhere else.

While based in Honolulu and obviously influenced by it, location does not define Tori Richard. Instead, Tori Richard products are defined by a strong desire and commitment to the design and manufacture of high quality products, using only the finest available fabrications and printing techniques. Their goal is to appeal to a clientele with a discriminating taste level, an appreciation of fine luxury fabrics, and an occasional good sense of whimsy. Tori Richard customer is anywhere in the world where the resort lifestyle can be embraced.

Spring Update:  We have some great colors in the long and short sleeve sleeve “This and That” shirt which is a great looking 100% silk (washable) overdye shirt.  Looks great with jeans, comfortable…  We also have several limited edition shirts on hand as well as the great tencel cord pant.  This is one of our favorite brands!
